Your sets move effortlessly between UKG, grime, dubstep, and UK Funky - do you approach multi-genre mixing differently from a single-style set?

Not really, I just try and find tunes that blend nicely together. On a basic level, UKG and Funky are around the same BPM so you can mix them if you've got the right tracks - same with dubstep and grime.

And with CDJs now it's way easier to play across genres, especially since the pitch range goes way higher than on old Technics that only went up to +8.

Clash referred to you as "one of the best selectors in the country." What techniques do you rely on to keep your selections fresh, authentic, and grounded in UK club culture?

Did they? Must've missed that one! Honestly, I think it's about looking back as well as forward. Digging for old records or forgotten bits makes your sets stand out, but you've also gotta keep your ear on new producers and scenes that are bubbling.

It's about finding that balance – respecting the culture that came before, but also keeping up with what's happening right now in UK club culture and reflecting that in your sets.

From the early days of pirate radio to your Rinse FM residency, how has the role of radio shaped your career and your connection with listeners?

Massively. I don't think I'd be where I am without radio. It is a shame that it's maybe not as strong as it used to be, with people more into video-led stuff now - but I guess that was always gonna happen.

Still, having a solid show with regular listeners is definitely still important if you wanna build yourself as a DJ.

Looking ahead, what's one gig, collab, or release in 2025 that you're especially hyped about?

To be honest, I'm just happy to be playing anywhere! But yeah, I'm buzzing to be back in Bristol with you guys on the 26th of September - it's one of my favourite cities to play.

And I've got a really special b2b coming up in October too, so keep an eye out for that one when it drops.

You've played everywhere from intimate basements to huge festival stages - where do you feel your sound hits hardest?

Festivals have been wicked this year, but for me the sound always hits best in a dark basement with a proper system. That's where I like to go myself, and the kind of music I play just feels right in those spaces.
